| Bernie Luther - Tattoo Demon - Austria |

Bernie got into tattooing through the punk scene of the 80’s, and has gone through many cultural and spiritual incarnations in his lifetime; the life he lived in India, Malaysia, Thailand, Borneo and Bali have had indelibly strong impressions upon him, and his extensive travelling have made him a character and a half with which to converse. Most importantly though, he’s an astounding tattooist. Bernie’s freehand specialties have been subject to influence from every last corner of the world. He’s created sprawling fluorescent green alien heads that expand into lurid dystopic city scapes, sphynx-expression women in tangerine orange bird masks, Japanese demons and monkeys in Indian crowns, tigers, flowers, lizards, wood-wind playing zombies, and sprawling body suits in pure black and grey. One look at Bernie Luther’s profile and you’ll know you’re on to something exceptional in the ink world. Our favourite examples of this man’s work, a guy who includes “goa raves” in his myspace interests, include his huge detailed backpiece project on one client: across the top of his shoulders, the word “misanthropy” stands aflame, crowning…well…just about every single last animal, mammal, bird and sea creature you can think of, all in immaculate detail and full colour. It takes balls take on a project like that, and it takes unearthly skill to be able to complete it to the standard that Bernie has done! Conclusively, Bernie says what makes him happiest is the knowledge that he has “engraved himself in the memory of thousands of people with a special piece of art.” If you add yourself to his list, therefore, you’ll only be making him even happier – what’s not to lose? http://www.myspace.com/bernieluther
