| Hollywood Undead Interview - PART 2 |
|
Too many to name, Lots of Hip Hop, metal, rock, booze! TTV: You guys were identifiable for your hockey masks as opposed to your actually faces; for a very long time it all seemed very secretive but in recent times you take the masks off at a lot of the live shows, is this due to trying to bring your own personalities to the stage as well or is this just an issue of getting too damn hot?! We use the masks as an image for our band, but we don't wanna take it to the extreme by always hiding ourselves, especially live, we feel that while performing we would like to identify with our audience and its harder with our masks on. TTV: 'Desperate Measures' is the new album and is expected to be released at the end of October, it includes a lot of live tracks, where were they recorded? We call it a CD/DVD, it has a few new tracks with some covers and live tracks aswell. It was done at Jdogs pad and Danny Lohners creepy house in the Hollywood Hills. TTV: You have covered Motley Crue's 'Shout at the Devil' and Led Zeppelin's 'Immigrant song', what made you choose these particular songs and how do you think they have worked out in a rap-esque style? Honestly we did it for fun, just cover the unexpected and see what happens. I think if we did a Beastie Boys song people would go, "Oh, yeah.. I get that".. haha TTV: You've also written a couple of new tracks for this album, but can we expect a new full length album from you in the near future? We are always working on new material and got ideas, but with the success of Swan Songs we have been touring like crazy, but I would expect one sooner than people would think. TTV: Obviously, tattoos are big amongst Hollywood Undead, Tell us about your first tattoo, the reasons behind it and your experience getting it? It was the most painful thing in the world and it was in the middle of my back, it felt like a dull butter knife grinding away. Good times!(mmmm butter knife) TTV: Do you have any band logo's tattooed on you, including your own? I have artwork form multiple bands on me that I got done for various reasons, for my own personal reasons and of course because i loved those bands. Oh yeah, I got HU tattooed on the front of my arm aswell. TTV: Are still getting tattooed, is there more work to be done? I started my whole chest piece just before we left for tour and it was brutal. I have to wait til december to get more work done on it. TTV: Is there any particular tattoo artists out there, you want a piece by? I get tattoo'd by Connor Garrity @ TIMELESSTATTOOLA in LA, but Steve Moore from Vancouver is by far my favorite artist in the world. I would love to have my whole right arm done by him. TTV: How do you choose your artist, do go to artist who's work you admire or will any tattooist you find on tour be able to satisfy the urge? I'm too picky to just let anyone work on me. Pretty much all my tattoo's have been done by Connor. TTV: Music of course reflects the creative personality of the people who make it, do your tattoos reflect a certain side of you? TTV: On Panteras websites, they have a whole gallery of tattoos their fans have got to honour them. Do you know if any of your fans have tattoos of your band logo or other band related Tattoos on them? Check our myspace page and you will see. We call them the UNDEAD ARMY!
