With six studio albums, six EPs and 27 singles under them, the band has gone from strength to strength. Their most recent album, Battle For The Sun, is a much heavier- sounding album to its predecessor, 'Meds', and puts the trio back on top form with songs like its epomomoous title track, and single For What It’s Worth. The band are currently touring the album, with upcoming shows from Japan to Australia, and many more being announced! The band are also releasing a new single this year, called Bright Lights, a song that those who’ve recently seen the guys perform will have been treated to already. Placebo are also big fans of tattoos, whether it’s the beautiful sleeves and chest pieces on Steve’s skin, or their fans’ Placebo- themed ink. Steve’s work is predominantly brightly coloured traditional work. Their fans tend to have either their lyrics or logos tattooed on them. The band are really busy right now following up their album with live shows and special edition material, so be sure to catch whatever you can! Words- Mel Roberts Pictures- Placebo World

Placebo were formed all the way back in 1994, in London, by Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal. After seeing Brian perform in a bar in a local pub, Stefan decided starting a band with him would be a great idea. After a little experience playing with Steve Hewitt on the drums, the pair eventually decided to make Robert Schultzberg their permanent drummer. Since then, they’ve replaced Schultzberg with Steve Forrest, forming the Placebo you know today.
