 • Immediately after the piercing has been placed, you can expect redness of the surrounding skin, a tingling soreness and the odd unfamiliarity of a ‘new’ bit of your body that was never there before as a constant presence in your conscience.
• A reputable piercist will have cleaned and covered the fresh piercing with a surgical standard bandage or plaster if it’s open to air – of course, this is not possible for all piercings. |

 As with tattoos, there is quite literally no part of your body that cannot be pierced, and also as with tattoos, different parts of your body have different success rates & take differing lengths of time to heal.
It’s also a very personal experience: Everyone has their own unique body chemistry, and it’s an unfortunate truth that while some of us are fantastic healers who have perfectly happy piercings mere weeks after they are newly inserted, others can take months, experience infection, swelling, set backs and even find that their body completely rejects the bar, ring or stud.
